Every year, gardeners from across Durham Region come together to talk about seeds and growing plants at this event hosted by the Pickering Museum Village.
Vince and Len were on hand to chat about gardening with organic methods throughout the event. They weren’t too busy to stop and pose for a photo with gardening friend and clematis enthusiast Peter Keeping.

Our organization is excited about the start of the growing and gardening season, and the steering committee has been working on a series of speakers and talks we hope you’ll be eager to hear this spring.

Wednesday, February 22, “To Fertilize or Not to Fertilize?” – A discussion of organic soil amendments and fertilizers.
Wednesday, March 28, “Everything You Need To Know About Gardening On The Internet” – A talk about the resources and tools available to gardeners.
Wednesday, April 25, “Kitchen Table Talk” – A round-table discussion about preparing for the planting season.
Our meetings take place at 7:30 pm at the Durham District School Board Building at 400 Taunton Road West, Whitby. All are welcome!
Hello,
I am thinking of relocating from London Ontario to perhaps Durham or Dundalk. I have an interesting in forest gardening or organic vegetable gardening. Of the two towns , where do you think there is a greater interest in this or is it the same ?
I’m interested in being connected with people who are interested in self sufficiency, sustainability.
Which of the two towns do you think has more natural beauty, wlaking trails, etc… ?
